Grout I am told is ash thats left from coal fired Power stations, mixed with water and cement then pumped under pressure into the voids (under ground working, fissures, etc), When Pilks Greengate was built 40,000 ton of the stuff had to be pumped under ground, a record at the time for this country my mate informs me, (he was the boss of the ground work on that site).
Very little work left for the heavy machines now most now laid up, plenty off work being done on the trenches that have been dug for the museum people, overall the site is rather quiet.
Had a good chin wag with Mrs Futtocks this morning nice woman, she didn't have her camera, not a lot to see to be honest.
