I don't know why you have brought our wingers into the Mose debate when we have been doing the "winger taking the ball up tactic" for many seasons before Mose came onto the scene.

I bring it up as I was talking about us being under the pump and in urgent need of getting out our 20m and we've got 13st guys taking it in and a 18+ stone guy not taking the ball up. I don't like that and that's why I Brought it up.

But that's not Mose, that's just browns tactic and always have been. By the same token the rest of the pack are as equally culpable for Makinson/ Swift taking it in so frequently in the first couple of tackles of every set...

But a guy who's so big and makes about 10m per carry should be helping out.

If he should be helping out and isn't then surely the coaching staff would put that right? Everything points to the fact that he's doing as he his told.

And for whatever reason Brown insisted that wasn't the case. It was one of my greatest frustrations with Brown as a coach, but he was unflappable with it. Mose and the rest of the pack could/should help out but that wasn't what they were coached to do.

It's not just us, had Leeds sent in a forward in the last minute of their playoff game instead of Briscoe, they'd of probably won!

I'm not against wingers jumping in at halfback and taking it in, it's pretty common at Most clubs and the little faster players make good yards and more often than not get a quicker PTB but I'm very much against wingers taking "drives" in. I'm pretty sure Amor got flogged this year which resulted in his worst injury season he's ever had because he's doing more work than he should be.

Wingers taking drives in is still definitely a beef with Brown as opposed Mose...

Amor carries per match 2014: 14.7
Amor carries per match 2013: 14.3

It's hardly like we asked the world of him on top of the job he did at Wakefield!* His injury was an unfortunate twist that had nothing to do with being overworked and just one of those things...

*edit: he also made (on average 3 less tackles a game in 2014 compared to 2013 (2014: 19.1 2013: 22.4)

Re: Mose : Thu Nov 06, 2014 3:17 pm
We are going round in circles here so let me put it another way -

Last year was a great achievment with injuries etc. It was real back to wall find away to win when we lost lomax and Walsh. We all knew the entertaining rugby has t put on hold and we "find a way to win".

That means players doing things out of their comfort zone for example - wingers doing hard yards, wello playing in the halves, turner moving in the halves and giving us a kicking game, Lms playing prop, Backrow and right centre etc etc all which is alian to them but the win at all cost mentality brown was drilling into them was took on board.

I know Mose is a 15min impact prop and I've nothing against that but he showed for the panthers he can do 30 min spells. I know he doesn't like to hard tough yards but the way each player played changed and needed to for the benifet of the team but Mose didn't go that extra yard and push little swifty to the side avd say my ball I'll have this. He was still expecting to play the same game yet the other players changed.

Flash playing 7 in a grand final FFS but he held his hand up avd did it.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Mose : Thu Nov 06, 2014 6:00 pm
Or we could be going round in circles as we all disagree and see it from completely different angles.

In which case maybe we are going around in isosceles triangles

Going the extra yard or ignoring your coach's directions?

The coach asked him to.
