What is all the bullshit being written by both Vikings and Saints fans.
On the night the best team won, no question.
As a Viking I will admit that tonight's win was brill, but we are still a team in progress.
We are not as bad as Saints fans think, nor not as good as some Vikings fans think.
What I will say is that I'm surprised at the lack of depth in the Saints side.
When you consider that both Saints and Wigan have had 16 years to build a squad, you have
To say that compared to Wigan than Saints are non- runners.
As regards the Vikings, give us another 3 years and watch out, until then we have to take our wins,
Especially against local sides gleefully.

Some Widnes fans seemed to take offence at our moaning - that it was a slight on their performance. That was the 5TH game we'd lost on the bounce, something I can't remember in my time as a saints fan (nearly 20 years). Of these 5 defeats, only 1 of these has come against a team higher than us in the league table.
I'd suggest it was unwise of Widnes fans to log on to this forum and expect a "Credit to Widnes" vibe.

First and foremost if you don't build a fan base you will never match the ambition of your chairman and will remain a bottom four side.

Moving on I have always liked Widnes and the warm welcome the fans have always given to opposition supporters, this year that was a touch lacking at Naughton Park. Your manic statement about Saints in relation to Wigan perhaps sums up your knowledge of the game.

Celebrating narrowly beating Saints atm is a bit like celebrating a points decision over an old and frail Muhammad Ali.

You can only beat what's in front of you but I think people from other clubs are getting a bit over-excited about 'beating Saints.' We're one of the worst sides in the comp atm and at our absolute lowest ebb. We'll be back though.

I actually really like Widnes fwiw.

Agreed. A rimming for Widnes was just not going to be on the cards with our losing streak atm.

We'd just been beaten against Wakefield and Castleford and haven't beat st Helen's in 19 years. This win was massive for both players and fans.

I know your missing two fantastic strike players in Roby and lomax, aswell as others but we have injuries too.

Arguably two of our best players in hanbury and Cahill were missing. Ah van and cross also missed the game, this time last season with these injuries our squad looked really thin. But now, you can see we have some depth and can cope with injuries, unfortunately the same cant be said over the last five weeks for saints.

Sure. But Saints are an awful team. Particularly missing our main strike players.

I wouldn't downplay Widnes' achievement in developing their team and trying to consolidate a SL standard squad. I like Widnes and hope they continue to build. All I would say is that beating Saints is no yardstick atm as we are absolutely terrible.

Warrington has the most passionate fans in RL. Fact.
Challenge Cup WINNERS 2009,2010,2012.
Not living in the 80s like Widnes.

Who cares Widnes beat you fair and square.Yes we have had some heavy defeats, and so have other teams. We have 11 points and last year 12 and still plenty of games to go.We are a better side this year and still improvements to be made. You lot seem to have the define right to walk on the pitch and win.Well the Wigan fans are laughing on their board.

Of course Wigan fans will laugh at any defeat for Saints...it's called rivalry.

Widnes fans don't know much about it as they don't have any rivals.

I hear Warrington Wizards are looking for a rivalry though. That might be good news for Widnes Vikings...

Fair enough, I think it showed by the amount of money in widnes that a lot of fans felt that we could beat saints they were playing that bad. You could get 7/1 for a widnes win.

We gave jack Owens a run out which looked to have done him the world of good. You have a very young inexperienced back line at the moment but they are good young players. If you manage to keep hold of them all you will have a very good, prodiminately English team in 2/3 years.
