I wouldn't complain if saints paid a large transfer fee to get him.
I would also rather see young English talent targeted instead of second rate ozzies.
Lineham and crooks from hull spring to mind.
Offer them a decent wage rather than the likes of laffranchi
I like him but I can't help but think saints could offer his wages to a much more talented player.

Don't know who has been in charge of recruitment but it goes without saying it could have been 10 times better in the last few years.

Wigan paid at least 100k each for both Taylor and Green from ourselves HKR.

Hull paid six figures for lynch few years back. Wolves paid six figures for myler. Hull offered £350,000 for Chase.

To be fair, they also "signed" Whitehead. It appears as though the docs cash is being used as a stalking horse by players and agents looking for better deals.

I think clearly their wages have increased, but the squad sizes haven't, so a player who was surplus 3 years ago will still be surplus today. If they increased the size of the NRL, it would be much more of a threat than simply playing the current squads more. The chickin lickin brigade will always find something to worry about though.

I remember the days we used to be ambitious when it came to our signings.

We won't go for Chase, but I am sure there is a 25 year old at London who hasn't played for them in 6 years due to him having no face. Get him signed up Rushy!

Only if he has has few career threatening injuries will we be interested
