Why on earth are people picking Chris Hill ahead of George Burgess?

Go on you tube and google George Burgess revelation. He's outstanding and clearly on another planet to Hill.

What do you mean? I think everyone has picked him.

George Burgess is an impact prop, not a starter.

I'd go

Graham
Roby
Peacock (on current form, he has to be considered despite retirement)
S Burgess
Ellis
O'Loughlin

G Burgess
Crabtree
Westwood/Farrell/in form back rower

That pack would monster any other.

I would go with:

Graham
Roby
Hill
Burgess
Ellis
O'Loughlin

Houghton
Westood (as a prop) or T Burgess
G Burgess
Hock

As a Hull fan i was expecting a lot from Ellis, but it did take him a while to get over his injury. In the last few weeks he has been getting better. His defence was strong in every game, but not his attack is getting better and punching holes in the defence. He was absolutely immense against Warrington

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

I don't think you can include Peacock as he has retired, and I'm not sure Elliss's form warrants inclusion. I would also start with Sinfield at #9, a position he has played well at International level.

So

Graham
Sinfield
Crabtree
S Burgess
Westwood
O'Loughlin

Hill
Roby
G Burgess
Hock / Ferres (he's had a very good season at Huddersfield)

Liam Farrells form has dropped off a little from the start of the season (coincided with Blake Greens injury) he should make the squad though.

The only reason to start putting sinfield at rake is to make room in the halves. Given Brough isn't playing and Widdop is injured, this isn't going to happen.
Plus, if you're going to double pump hookers, we've plenty of quality behind Roby that's a better bet than Sinfield - Houghton, Lunt, Clarke and the curiously in form Mickey Higham.

I kind of agree with your point about Ellis, he's been injured a lot and not always a world beater, but he got through a lot of rough stuff against Wire (most of which was in the vicinity of Westwood) and I wonder whether his experience and alleged "big game ability" will get him picked in front of form players like Kirmond, Ferres and early season Farrell.

I'd go for 3 props to start. I'd also be tempted to push Roby towards 80 minutes and take a different 4th player as sub.

Graham, Robes, Crabtree
O'Loughlin, Ellis, S Burgess

Bench of : G Burgess, Westwood, (i'd probably go) Hill and (with flagrant bias) Lomax - who can cover every back position and hooker, if you want/need to rest Robes. Realistically, Ratchford may be a bit more deserving of this role, as Lomax hasn't played enough minutes this year.

Why the hell would we play sinfield at 9 when we've got the likes of Roby, MM, houghton, higham and Clarke?

Fair enough but houghton, higham and mm are out and out hookers that play it week in week out. Sinfield has played a handful of games there.
