What's with the love fest for Turner? He still can't defend for toffee.

They've all been rubbish for pretty much the whole season.

Turner was trying his damndest to turn the game around for us on Friday night. The man was everywhere, trying everything. Then he put a big hit in and got a great response from the fans, who by that time were desperate for anything resembling hope, and after that his try, which he deserved not least for his earlier efforts to turn the game around. He's worked hard has Turner and I think he's been one of our better players.

As for Saints player of the season I'd have to divide it between Wilkin (for doing the best he possibly could in a position he thinks he isn't made for) and Walmsley for his consistent go-forward week after week, which sometimes has made a massive difference to us when all our other so-called forwards have been made of puff pastry.

Turner at least adds some bit of xfactor in our play, he's not predictable and a big improvement on Shenton

He can't defend.

He's missed 49 tackles this season and it's not like his attacking play makes up for that. The 49, a massive 23 more than any of our other backs, doesn't tell the story of the ones he doesn't even get to, like the two for Warrington's try, where they just walked through like he wasn't there.

I'd say Manu. He's been quality this second half of the season. Wilkin a close second and Walmsley third, if I had to pick a 1, 2, 3.

Worthy noting that Jordan Turner is the first Saints centre to score at least ten tries during the Super League season since 2007 when Gidley scored 15.
