Last years Dally M rankings suggest otherwise.

Unlike Super League, the NRL clubs aren't short of scrum halves. Most clubs have exciting prospects in their systems and there won't be a massive queue for Walshy. Look at Dureau, can't get a game in the NRL, but was brilliant in SL. Not saying Walsh wouldn't get a team if he was pushing for a move, but can't see him being hunted.

There's actually a bit of a hole for young quality halfbacks in Aus at the minute, same as there is here. Andrew Johns spoke about it the other day but I can't find a link.

He's a very good 6, but on a 5 year $550k per annum contact I think he's a little out of reach!

Can't see them doing that when he only signed his extension a couple of months ago!

I watched Walsh in every game he played in last season and he was outstanding. So what you're saying is not true per se.

I'm not saying he's not a great player or that he's not played in the NRL. But how many contract offers did he get before signing for Saints? Penrith didn't want him.

Didn't someone, Newcastle I think, try and get him to break his contract with us off and join them instead?

I think, relative to what they're used to, people in aus would say there was a shortage of quality halves.

Just because Penrith didn't want him doesn't make him a poor halfback. Wigan didn't want Longy. More fool them eh? I have no idea whether another NRL club wanted him and I doubt you know either. Just because nothing featured in the press doesn't mean to say he didn't have offers.

He had a brilliant season last year and has done great things for us this year. Personally I really don't give a horse's willy about anything else. It's just a damn bloody shame that he is out, both for himself and for us. We scored some fabulous tries as a result of him being in our team.
