That means Wellens returning to full back and the club want volunteers to play scrum half.
We were goi okay until McDonnell went off. But as with all to often this year, 1 tiny little thing throws them off kilter and next thing we know were 20 points down.
What was even more frustrating for me was I felt at half time we could really go on and recover and give one last big push, alas it was not to be. Nobody can really hold their heads up after that performance.
If McDonnell has broken his jaw, it just sums up our season. Swift to fullback? (thought his performance was a very dim bright point in the direness that was that performance - in at least he proved himself to be 10x better than Dawson, who is the definition of mediocre) or Wellens to fullback and Hewitt into the side? How much worse could it get? Wellens will get a lot of stick, but he actually created our only 2 try's which is more than can be said for our "real" halfback hohaia who offered precisely nothing, other than weak defence. Manu, Laffranchi and Soliola were very poor, lms, Flanaghan Amor and Masoe were completely anonymous. I still can't figure out who was playing where in the backs, and by the looks of it neither did they. Brown did himself absolutely no favours with his post match interview. He made me even more angry about it than I already am. There was absolutely no game plan, our kicking game was possibly the biggest embarrassment in a night of embarrassments. On the one hand you can say were missing our halfbacks, BUT that's precisely why we needed a clear and concise plan.
The only bright side is I'm off internet for the weekend...
