Team for this week:

Paul Wellens
Darren Albert
Jamie Lyon
Willie Talau
Anthony Sullivan
Tommy Martyn
Sean Long
James Graham
Keiron Cunningham
Alex Walmsley
Sia Soliola
Willie Manu
Paul Sculthorpe

James Roby
Mose Masoe
Vila Matautia
Jason Hooper

Give or take one of two players, that should be right.

I'm backing Sculthorpe to make a surprise return this week, and guide the team around the park ... He's only the same age as peacock after all!

I think you'll find my MATES are not youth players and I haven't give any team info or injuries etc out this year at all.

I've known about injuries, team selection, new contracts etc and not said one single word.

Well if your mates are not youth players then they are first team squad players - it matters not. Ok we have not seen teams posted by you in recent weeks which is reassuring as when you are privy to inside info from your mates I'm sure the last thing they would want is that you go posting it on fans forums. None of this explains your motivation for slagging off Wello when he is doing his best in the red vee - especially when you were not even at the game. No matter who plays Wilkin, Roby, Hohaiha, Amor, Dawson, Walker, Thompson, Charnock ( if he gets his chance ) we must want them all to do well. That way the Saints are successful and that is what we want. Let's pull together as supporters and get behind the lads - some of the stuff that's going on at the moment is quite sour. OK if we don't play well and it needs pointing out about individuals then have your say in the right manner. Nobody has any issue with that.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: 19 man squad for Wakefield : Wed Mar 26, 2014 8:32 am
I'm more bothered about people booing from the terraces. Something most on here have never done even when we were at a low ebb. Also there are a fair few on here of differing age ranges.

Do not confuse not going to an away game with a lack of commitment. Not everyone has free choice to go as they please. Some of us have responsibilities to children. I used to go to every game I could, I have no problem saying that I've only been to Langtree once this year, (twice on Friday). Everyones situation is different. Students will have more freedom as will pensionaires. Yet they maybe restricted by health and wealth.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and whilst I'm not really into name calling the point about Lomax to 6 and Wellens to 1 would have seemed apt. There is lots of overreaction during a game and people will always share their thoughts. The only difference is that unlike a bloke in a pub saying far worse things f'ing and j'effing at players.

I do think the flack Wellens has got would have been far less if he had not been playing the 70 minute bench spot in the opening games. It did seem a made up role. Like I say he would be in my team against Catalan and Wakey because of the injury and suspension situation, the position is debatable, but against Warrington I would have had another forward.

Slagging wello off?

I've called him a snail which is the worst I've called him. Other players get bagged off much worse than wello.

Wello has been great for the club. Top class player and top class person off it but IMO he shouldn't be in the 17 when better players are sat in the stands watching.

I've nothing but respect for wello and what he's done but I'll not judge him now on past achivements.

Is calling wheeler "biscuit" or Perry "fat" or Mose "fat" or Turner "turnstile" and worse than calling wello a snail ?

Those names above are frequently used towards player and seen as good humour but I call wello a snail and your on your high horse?

You must obviously have some sort of favouritism towards wello as you don't jump down others throats when calling players when using these names.

Try saying - injury prone, overweight, suspect in defence - sounds an awful lot better. It's easy to be venomous and derogatory behind the anonymity of a forum name. There's too much of it regardless of who the player is. The same goes for spectators at the ground. I was next to a bloke at the Hull game who called Turner an effing coward because he went off concussed. The guy looked like he'd never played a minutes rugby in his life. On the subject of favouritism - I do happen to have a lot of respect for Wello and what he's done for the club over a sustained period. I have been reading this stuff for months but when you and S******* were ripping in to him last week after the win and had not even been there I thought enough is enough so I've had my say. That's my final word. On this matter - this has gone on too long.

So why jump down my throat when other posters call other players much worse ?

I don't think wello should play when we have a full strength squad but I know he will give 100% when called on. In fact I didn't mind him getting a new deal as long as he's a squad player.

Is he better than greenwood, walker, Flanaghan etc as a Backrow? IMO he's not and these guys are losing out on past glory.

Is he better than Hohaia as a utility player off the bench? IMO no as he can't cover multiple positions like Hohaia.

That is my opinion and I'm entilited to it on a open forum.

I've called him a snail and you've shi* in your pants over it.
