It's the way it goes sometimes but no way Amor is lazy or goes missing.

What about wheeler with 20 tackles!!!!!!

I wasn't insinuating that he is lazy/goes missing, but it just seemed a bit odd.

I can go that way sometimes. I can even go on how the game is going during a players spell on the field. We might have had lots of the ball when Amor on and them had to defend for 20 mins while he was off.

A lot of interesting things to be read into these stats.

I liked Walmsley and Amor starting far more than I thought I would, and walmsleys stats show his impact is no less diminished so I'm all for it continuing.

Lms, despite in game looking everywhere has some comparatively small stats. But we know from last season he's not a grafter, so the ability to inject himself when needed seems to have a good impact, with the above 2 laying the groundwork. He sent at least 2 Warrington lads flying in his (few) carries.

Wilkin had a poor game by his standards but still put a defensive shift in! But how long until jones overtakes him for that defensive second row position?

Tommy maks stats are very very impressive - if he keeps that up throughout the season he'll be pushing for internationals!

He'd have to play to take the wingers spots off the likes of Charnley, Hall and briscoe.

Agreed, I don't think Makinson will have it in him to be more effective than those three for England.

I do think that he'll be a very good club player for us, but I'm not so sure about his international credentials. Same as Swift. I don't think they have the size required at that level given who they will be up against

Saying that though, Swift made 8 tackle busts vs the wolfs!

I think Swift has the potential to go on to play at international level. He's young enough and good enough to make they progression. I think we got a very talented lad in swift.

England are blessed with wingers at the moment :D if only we had such depth in the halves! I really like mak and if he puts in ~30 more performances like that then selectors will have to mention his name.

I'll put money on it he will never put a England shirt on. He's not good enough at that level, the to many better wing men than tommy Mak.

Tom lineham is probably ahead of him also.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Match Stats - Warrington (14/02/2014) : Sat Feb 15, 2014 12:57 pm
The thing is the line between a good club man and international can be very thin. Look at Tommy Martyn without doubt one of the best 6's we've had, yet no international call up.

Longy to was hardly blessed with long years in the international game.

To look at Football Ian Wright a goal machine but did not fit the international set up.

I'm sure if there was an injury run then our two fellas would not be far off a call up. But the incumbants have proven their worth at that level and so shifting them would take a true world beater.

I like the stat thread and love having a good look at each players stats but they don't always paint the correct picture.

You don't need great stats to get the man of the match or have a big influence on the game.
