You're very forgiving when it comes to your mate Ant... Like it is acceptable for a professional sportsman to return from injury a stone overweight. How does that happen. His performances were poor and no wonder if he's that much overweight. On Sat he struggled and showed that maybe he' s not ready for week in week out at SL level yet. We're in an ideal position to rotate the young lads so let's do it and accept that it's in their best interests. To leave out Lafranchi was an error of judgement in MHO.

If you read my posts you will see I'm all for introducing all the young kids at the correct pace. Some can come in and play week in week out but some (mostly forwards) need to be brought in at correct times.

Would certainly have gone for Laffranchi over Walker. Joe Greenwood did alright for us yesterday though IMO. Watch Walker get turtled and dominated and contrast that with Greenwood. Still needs easing in somewhat though IMO.

I think people got carried away with the way wello played against Leeds. Fair enough he did ok and the run for the try was top class but would greenwood or Manu etc get the praise wello did ?

It's because alot of fans a)actually believe he played scrum half b)remember his 1 big hit c)remember the 1 barnstorming break he made (reminded my of something Scully did every week in his prime) and then forget about everything else in the game. Wello has done his job the last few weeks but as alot of us have said he would not and should not make a strongest 17

Only the coaching staff and players understand Wellos true value to the team as a player and captain. As a result the coaches will decide whether he plays or not when everyone is fit. Steven Gerrard no longer runs box to box scoring 30 yard screamers yet in a new role his value in the Liverpool team is immeasurable. I suggest that Wello operates in a similar way and supporters need to appreciate that. Not that he should be a passenger - 28 tackles at weekend shows that is not the case.

A terrible comparison. A predictable response though

What a poor comparison using Gerrard and wello.

Gerrard is still top class and wello isn't.

Disagree with your first point. If he had played at 7, it was about as poor a performance as you would see in that position. He kicked the ball twice and didn't do any organising for starters. What he produced was a good performance in the role he was asked to play that night. Defended brilliantly and made a try. If he had 'actually been playing at scrum-half' we wouldn't be saying that.

In response to another poster, had Greenwood made that break of course he would have been praised for it to the same level. 3/4 Leeds defenders couldn't stop him when he set up Makinson's try. Don't care who it was from, it was a brilliant piece of play and one that any player would get praise for. Yesterday he flew out of the line to deny them a drop goal late on in the game. The way Wellens, Walmsley and another defender (not sure who) got off the line late on was superb. Match winning plays ultimately from those 3 players. What was it, 29 tackles as well? Didn't he make the final pass for Makinson's try when he ran the line out the back? Forgive me if I'm wrong there in advance because I'm not sure on that.

One thing he does give this team is leadership. He's a true competitor who speaks his mind on and off the field. If things aren't going to plan he'll tell them what he thinks. You need players like that. He's the sort of player who will never shirk anything or leave anything out on the field. You know full well that when he steps out on that field he will give absolutely everything he has in whatever role he is asked to fill. Don't care what anyone says, that means something to me. He's still making big plays as well. Sometimes you need a bit of experience in games.

We're 8 from 8 with him in the team. Will he remain in the team when we have a full squad to pick from? I don't know. Would I pick him in my 17? Probably not. But he's not doing as badly as people would like to think. We aren't doing too badly.

Anyway, that's my opinion. I respect those with alternative views and I can even see why they think it, but that's me.

Walker has been very good for us since he broke into the team. He wasn't great on his return from injury last year as he was carrying a extra stone in weight but he's a very good young prop that will never let us down.

Greenwood IMO has enormous potential and I know Brown feels the same. He's worked hard on his strength in the off season and it's noticeable this year. The lad can break tackles and is quick.

How you can write two very young lads off so soon is laughable.

IMO greenwood and Saveilo are the pick of the bunch.

Read my post again, i never wrote Greenwood off. I'd just prefer the more experianced players for the big games. If people thought Clough wasent good enough then people wont be happy with this lad Walker. Watched him from u18's and dont forget he is 23/24 now, he isent no rookie.

Nobody saying he's the next James Graham but he's a good squad player. Its impossible to have 24 mam squad of superstars in a salary cap sport.
