I've been thinking on this for a few days. This year was for sentiment, next would be one too far. We can't be too ruthless with players, noone would come, but we cant be too soft either. The young players are being held back with Wello on the bench for another year. Savellio and others will be needing proper, extended runs in the first team by then

Offer him a role like Jordan James at Wigan. Isn't he on the coaching staff but plays if need be?

I think he originally joined the coaching staff but then they changed that to a playing contract. He has played 7 league games this season plus both cup games so he seems to be more than a "just in case" player. Having said that they have had a few injuries in the forwards.

I see what you're saying though, having Wellens there as emergency back up would be fine. It seems he is far more than that at the moment though.

Me personally would have cut him two seasons a go but the club seem hell bent on keeping him until he's leading us out with a Zimmer frame.

But here and on Redvee people are still arguing for a new contract. I can only assume they have eyesight problems because they havent been watching the same player I have for the last couple of years

Those are probably the same people who'd be happy with a 5th place finish and a semi final playoff defeat as long as we have our local lads "giving their all."
