Both Brown and Burns are post 30 though, so in 2-3 years they'll be gone again. As you say, we've had far too much change in the halves over the last couple of years, and need someone to anchor the team which can take 5 years. The only reason to bring someone over 30 in is if one of the kids are gonna be capable of being the cornerstone of the team for the next 5 years

Easily get 3 good years out of Burns. We need a proven halfback ASAP! No more messing about and looking at 18yr old kids who will come good in 4 years, we need one now!

Anyone who wouldn't want Burns/Walsh needs their head testing. Both can ball play, both can direct, both have good kicking games, Burns can take the line on and brings some aggression.

I honestly think, Burns, a quality prop and a good Backrow puts us well and truly in the mix.

In 2 years, Lomax will have been playing behind all that experience and can step forwards.

I agree with Pete on this one. Having someone young and able does not mean you will keep them any longer than 2 years.

Eastmond, Gaskell, Wheeler should be a lesson well learned.

I don't think Lomax will ever make halfback. The best halfbacks are loud, organising figures who tell their teammates where to go and what to do. They boss games. Lomax just isn't made that way.

Well he could just fake it.

He's not a young un any more even at fullback he will need to give it out to get the defensive numbers organised.

Good signing. Tends to have a brain fart in him at times, but all this style of player do. When I have seen him play he has always impressed me although can be a little lazy in defense but in a superior environment you would expect that would improve.

I can already see the Tautai vs Vea debates on here and Cherry and White over the coming seasons.

I've been impressed with Tautai when I've seem him. Gets thru a lot of work and maybe a little to much as he runs around like a headless chicken in defence at times.

Both could potentially be top class signings.

If we sign Burns it would be likely Powell would move to the bench hooker spot. That's were he started this season but got injured after a couple of games. The injury to Green has meant he has been playing at 6. He started at 9 against London in the last game. Wigan either need a 6 or a bench hooker IMO.

Whichever team Burns plays for next season will have a good player. I rate him highly.
