Can one of you more enlightened fans please explain this statement from McManus?
"Force of circumstance has reconstituted change."
Sorry but anyone attempting to justify a sacking with gobbledegook like that, simply shouldn't be in charge of hiring & firing a tea lady
He can hardly come out and say, KP and RS where not talking and had major disagreements on the running of the team. This has spilled over to the players and so neither Royce nor KP could continue given that they had major problems working together.
For me that kind of wording is the kind of wording that would be jumbled enough so that it did not leave the club open to anything.
Lets not forget there is the possibility that Royce had other issues, which would effect his performance from last year to this.[/b]
Indeed. I'd bet substantial amounts of cash if I were a betting man that there's stuff behind the scenes we don't know about that is 90% of the reason behind the sacking. We'll find out when Wello's kiss-and-tell book comes out in a few years' time but probably not before sadly.

I doubt it, not unless Wello has enough evidence to stop a law suit for defamation.
However, only an idiot would fail to see that Royce is absolutely clueless at the minute and we are possibly at our lowest point, in terms of form, since Super League began.
You do persist in resorting to insults - implied or otherwise - which suggests to me that you are floundering, just offering up an ill-thought out emotional response.
So what would you suggest? Keep faith with him because he is a nice bloke? Something had to happen and whether you like it or not, he is largely responsible for the way we play and solely responsible for team selection. Therefore, he had to go.
Of course he is solely responsible for team selection but in case you hadn't noticed, we have limited depth thanks to the recruitment decisions of the board. We were defending just fine, with only Jamie Foster's howlers offering up tries, pretty much. That was an improvement on three weeks ago. So in fact we had improved. We were not being slaughtered. Far from it. We lost by a maximum of four points. We managed to perform at the outset and ending of each match, which suggests to me that our defeats have mostly been in the hands of the players, particularly the senior players.

Another way of seeing it (and, incidentally, the way I see it) is that the generally high calibre of player in our squad has just about kept us in games in which we have been floundering in terms of gameplan and structure.

Well, it's all a matter of opinion.
We'll see what revolution takes place over the next few weeks. If we win on Sunday then while I will be happy to take a win, I won't be convinced of anything until a few weeks have passed and we see positive changes. A win on Sunday could just be the after-effects of rollockings from the boss/shock at what has happened/a change in boss, etc. Right now though I think Saints could well have dropped a bollock and I'm more fed up about following the team than I was after that awful display on Saturday night.
Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

"That type of wording" is kinda what you used to see up on the board of Beat The Clock on Sunday Night At The London Palladium" and you had to rearrange them to make a well-known phrase or saying
It is complete nonsense, it's not even English, it is nothing more than a collection of random words.

I agree to a certain extent that our defence over the last 2 games has been better. And ok, we haven't been slaughtered, but Bradford are a very poor side and Hull didn't do anything special in beating us the week before.
However, we are so so clueless in attack, I've never seen anything like it. Surely you can see that the players have no idea what to do with the ball in hand? Yes of course there have been individual errors at times and certain players are playing below-par. BUT, a team's organisation, structure, attacking 'moves', etc. are down to what they are being coached to do. We have scored just 2 tries in each of our last 2 games, thats shocking!
Gotta say I'm surprised by this decision. I expected him to be here until the end of the season, then EM would announce a replacement.
Not at all sure about the temporary replacements, either. Both hugely inexperienced at coaching at the top level and neither likely to bring in any new ideas and moves. Hope I'm proved totally wrong, though.
This just shows how important a really top quality coach is, and how much difference they can bring. Take note, Mr McManus.
Finally, I want to wish Royce Simmons all the very best of luck for the future. I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the guy.
