It is right that we have had worse as some people have pointed out.

The difference is that Meli isn't a young English player and probably commands a large salary. I'd rather see an academy player on the wing and the saved money spent on someone else (preferably a centre).

I remember when we first signed him going for a look on the NZ Warriors fan forums to see what they thought of him. The concensus seemed to be that he was an inept berk.

IMO, Meli's been beaten down by fans so much last season, he's bound to be low on confidence. I for one hope he comes back. And I'll be having his name on the back of my shirt if he does (sorry Gardner!).

Mmmm, I reckon if you look a bit further you'll find that, in his earlier career, he won a couple of awards - maybe Warriors player of the season or even NRL winger of the year (something which implied he was pretty good, anyways) before his form dropped off and he found his way into the reserves.

Aye, I think he may have been one of the NRL's top scorers the year the Warriors reached the GF. But by the time he left he was not in the least bit popular wherever I looked.

As I mentioned earlier, however, IMO he is a clumsy player who will always have mistakes in him, but he also has his strengths and is by far the best option we have at present.
