If i was to marry, i dont know if i ought to, if i would, if i should , i'd marry a Prop's daughter, she'd go down, i'd go down, we'd all go down together, we'd be alright in the middle of the night going down together!!
The end is nigh, the end is nigh. It's all you lot ever have to say, when we lost Newlove, Sullivan, Martyn, Goulding e.t.c The end was nigh but guess what we still went on to win things.
Yeah maybe we have signed a forward that is slightly older, but Puletua can run and doesn't look like he's just been snatched from the local weight watchers meeting to play hooker.
Priceless, The end will never be nigh for you, Leeds and the likes.
The Rugby League have a salary cap in place to try get the competition on a more level playing field as in Australia now, but then we have refs like "Le Twerp" in the middle.
Saints spoiled all game and we just were not clever enough to beat the holding down and constant offside and received no help from "Le Twerp" either.
Saints got penalties for these offences when they were in the Huddersfield 20 but "Le Twerp" only gave Huddersfield the penalty for the same offence when we were in OUR OWN 20 yard area.
We had 3 tries dissallowed and would like to see these in more detail before passing comment, It was 12-6 with 4 mins to go (probably to do with Long's terrible goalkicking) but think this was a more realistic scoreline.
You have no worries for Saints, Leeds, and the other so called "BIG CLUBS" until the refs lean less towards these teams
SOUR GRAPES but believe what you want, watch the highlights though.

So Saints slowed the play down today ? It's about blo*dy time because thats the game plan Saints are up against every week!

We scored five tries to one it was a comfortbale victory my shudders friend. Your analysis of the game is absolutely pathetic and you should be highly embarassed.
I did! contrary to people's reaction to my comments, i wasn't trolling about attendances. i was honestly surprised when i tried to book a ticket that we took an end rather than a side (because that wasn't the case last time i went), and i was even more surprised when i saw how full the ground was today. great turn out...though as someone else mentioned, a distinct lack of noise (from both sets of fans)
had a look round the george too - good day out all in all!
as for the game...great last ditch defence from wellens and gilmour, puletua and long were stand out going forward. we coped well without graham and cayless - i'm a lot more optimistic about how we're going to go this season after today's game.

please watch the highlights and see why those trys were dissllowed.we were sat behind the sticks and there was no doubt at all in my mind with any of the decisions.perhaps the score was a little distorted but take nothing away from the saints defence, you couldn't get past it.the game lasts for 80 mins, not 75 mins.
congratulations on the attendence today, but in reality with such a good offer on season tickets any less would have been a disaster.
sour grapes on your part?until you get that chip off your shoulder about referees,it will allways sound like sour grapes.
daniel anderson had a rant about the referee after last years game between us,claiming we were robbed, jon sharp was allways moaning so it really is a bit boring now going on about the ref.
you have a good coach, team and fans.if you learn from today you will continue to progress, carry on moaning like you are and you will just stay midtable
thought the ref was poor today for both teams a lot of things missed some blatant. Also a couple otf times TJ flagged and he did not follow their advice.
However saints were the better team today and that little bit of extra class told. they scored their chances and we did not. to be fair i was pretty impressed with saints they look better defensively than they normally do and they worked overtime to keep us out. With that defence you might win a grand final. I think you are looking better than Leeds and you have a better pack and depth.
I think you need to knock the CC on the head for a year and you might have the energy at the buisness end of the year.
the only thing that concerns me is the slower PTB which seems to be an RFL directive. in the pre season our PTB was quick and we took teams apart. If it is going to be slower then we have to adapt. If the game is going to be more like the Australian game then it will not be half as exciting as it was.
It'll be a dour arm-wrestle for 75 minutes then one side will sneak the decisive score. It is a myth that we always perform badly at the Girlyfarm. In most matches I've been to we've been out of sight by half-time. It's only the last couple of seasons were we've 'wobbled', but the Gaints are improving. Got my tickets this morning and am looking forward to the game. Will the Ropewalk definitely be shut? If so, can someone recommend an alternative within walking distance?

If you watch again you'll find that all Saints did is what Leeds have been excellent at doing over the past couple of years and that's tackling the man and turning him over so he's on his back. It's devastatingly effective at slowing the PTB but well within the rules of the game. I won't mention how ironic it is to hear a Giants fan talk about spoiling at the PTB given the past three or four years of Giants play.

I don't recall us getting too many penalties in that area. When did we kick to touch when we were in your half? I can only remember one which was in the second half. The penalties you received helped you to get into our half because IIRC I can remember only one clean line break, Aspinwall, from you because our defence was outstanding.

You have to ground the ball for it to be considered a try nevermind having it disallowed. Our goal line defence was exceptional and the one try you scored was pretty fortuitous i.e. bouncing off a player's back and then still just grounding it despite the attention of several defenders.

It is and you're doing a disservice to what was probably the best performance I've seen from The S at your place against you.

Thank you for a bit of honesty. Defensively we were brilliant and in that first half we should really have been out of sight as Long was tearing you to pieces down your right centre channel.
As for Huddersfield, I thought that they played as well as I have seen them play against us. Usually when we go to your place we have a mixed performance and let you into the game. This time, when you came back against us it was on your own merit. You spent pretty much the entire first forty, playing out of your own half and it wasn't until you managed to force some penalties in the second forty that you got the chance to apply some pressure. Against most other sides you would have come away wtih three or four tries but our defence was first rate.
Brown and Robinson played a lot better than I have seen them play before. Moore was giving the ball plenty of air from dummy half and you were unusually imaginative with the ball overall e.g. the chip kick. If the Giants can stay away from big injuries to key players they will be top six and might even go higher.
Yesterday was an opportunity to measure yourselves against one of the two best teams in the league and it was a performance that you can take a lot from.

Agreed.
Anyone who thinks Saints are a spent force is in for a rude awakening.
