Amazing how easily pleased you sheep are. Don't get me wrong, this looks a decent signing, he's turned into a quality prop at Wakefield.

But some of the hysteria ("I can't believe we've pulled this off") shows how low our expectations had fallen. We didn't believe the club would ever wake from their slumber, but there are encouraging signs that maybe, just maybe, they are starting to acknowledge their failings and do something about it. That doesn't excuse the malaise that has been allowed to set in and destroy our squad over the last 6-7 years but it shows a willingness to move forward from now on.

I was also going to say the board would be wise not to assume this will placate the fans, as it's not enough, but it seems from the giddy outpouring on here that it might be. Decent signing but without a halfback to play with Walsh we're not going to be competing for trophies. If they follow this up with announcements of new deals for dead wood in Wello and Laffranchi and then don't sign a stand off, what will the point have been?

This is the time Saints need to step it up. Release Wello and Laffranchi and sign a stand off. Then we'll be cooking on gas.

We're not necessarily rebuilding to be trophy winners in one season, this is just a step in the right direction. There's only so many holes you can fill in once recruitment period and they've done a hell of a lot of filling so far.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

I would imagine Hohaia will be our first choice stand off next season and playing beside a proper scrum half we may see a better standard of play from him.

Although I have to say I'm bemused as to why we would re-sign Wello but it seems that is what we are doing.

You say that but Wigan have just won the cup with Blake Green and Matty Smith as their half backs.

To be fair, though, that's only because the opposition decided they were too nervous to leave their hotel.

The Hull FC team that faced us at Wembley back in 2008 would have beaten Wigan with few problems this year.

As mentioned above, Super League is terrible. It doesn't particularly matter if they're world beaters or not. Ideally our's would be someone with a bit of pace and who is a dangerous runner. Doesn't matter if they're not a world class leader and organiser as Walsh is being tasked with that. If we released Laffranchi we'd have an overseas spot available to bring over an Aussie or Kiwi. They are plenty of talented halves on the fringes in the NRL.

Rhinos reject.

(Although letting him go could turn out to be GH's daftest move)

Wash your mouth out.

Not ready then but he's developed into a decent prop.

If Brown and co deem him a reject then every wakey fan would love to see him come back.

I'm gutted, very underrated prop.

You will see what we se every week and that is strong runs, getting his body through the defenders, hard yards and a bit of a classy step which he has found this season which has helped him find a few gaps.

Amor is quality and will be a shoe in for GB if he plays anywhere near like he has for us. You will see next year the guy is just quality and his 3 years at Wakey he has consistently shown improvements in his game.

Second only to Kirmond but he is class. Great signing and no bitterness. A fee was paid (50k was quoted). If you paid 50k then what a bargain!!

So long as I don't hear the saints have turned him into top quality prop material rubbish ill be happy. He already is top draw. No doubt he will be your best prop by a country mile next year. Gutted but good luck to Kyle.

I think Walmsley will push him for that title but none the less very exciting time to be a Saints fan. Good luck with your club mate, you have brought some excellent players on over the last couple of years.
