Good god! Hold your nerve.
Let us refresh this conversation with a little realism. We are currently in the middle of an atrocious injury run. We are missing countless quality players whilst several of our starters are clearly playing crocked (see Roby). This is the first real chance our halves have had the opportunity to play with each other in a Saints shirt.
So far we've done brilliantly. Yes - we've lost a few games recently. But once the likes of Vea, Percy, Greenwood et al return and Burns and Walsh have had the opportunity to re-develop their prior relationship I don't think we'll have any problems at all.
It's easy to look at Leeds' play tonight and consider that we are somehow "deficient" in certain departments. That Leeds are clearly better at attacking play etc. etc.
All I'll say is this: if Jamie Peacock were crocked tomorrow they'd suddenly hit a brick wall at a high rate of knots.
As previously stated - Leeds are entirely welcome to a dozen point lead come the end of the season. The advantages gained from such are practically non-existent provided we finish 2nd or even 3rd.
And how many times have we seen sides wowing the competition at the mid-way point delivering strangely muted performances at the end of the year?
We've now got a few relatively easy games to get ourselves back on the horse. Three wins and no major injuries and job done for this part of the competition. IMO, other sides have far bigger problems to solve than us.
