Never mind take, I'd love it if Cunningham was at your caravan for 10 years. And you never paid large transfer fees? (Mcmanaus). And yes our fans stink of higher class because they use deodorant.
There's always fun and games with the Wire and Stains Mr Frisk.
They're a big club with great success, but some on here, not all, like to belittle the Wire. They've taken the mickey out of us for a good few years, perhaps rightly so, but the shoe is on the other foot now. If they hadn't taken the mickey so much, then we'd be ok. They're still trying to take the mickey even though they've done f all bar the jammy GF win in recent years. We don't try and laugh at other clubs misfortunes like they did at our club. But the tide is turning. They were laughing at us when we attempted to buy Sandow. The day after they announced Dominique Peyroux. The thing is, I have no problem with any club signing anyone, but, if you're taking the mickey, then expect it back. And that Sandow Peyroux thing was perfect. Saints fans taking the mickey as usual saying no chance of signing Sandow and what how could we, the 'minnows'' Warrington sign someone like that. We got him and the day after they signed Peyroux. It was funny in Wire quarters. We're generally good fans and will always give credit where it's due. But when someone takes the mickey for years, it's lovely when when things are reversed.
Not much of a disappointment for the majority of saints fans, our team has been playing well below par for 2 seasons now and going back 10 weeks we shouldn't have been anywhere near the play offs. Warrington were better than us last night but wasn't a convincing win due to the controversial aspects in the game. It will be a welcome change to have a new name on the super league trophy but if Warrington lose another final it will be far more devastating than us losing a semi that realistically was a game too far for us.
Off the top of my head - lomax, Makinson, Percival, swift, Jamie Foster, Lee gaskell, Jamie Ellis, Chris dean, Wellington, ashworth, Jamie Ellis, Eastmond, James Graham, James Roby, Keiron Cunningham, Paul Wellens, Greenwood, Thompson, Wheeler, Richards, Knowles, emm it, Josh Jones, savilo, dixon, Ashurst, tyrer, Armstrong
In peace St Helens fans. With all the stuff, you're still a massive club. Things aren't as good as they should be for club like Saints, but I'm sure things will turn around. As much as I don't like to say it/admit it, you have a great knack of sorting things out. You'll be there and there abouts next year, like most years competing at the very top. Good luck (but not too much luck!) In recruiting for next year. We need all our top sides in rl to be attracting the best in talent to get the punters in, and get the focus back on the best game in the world.
I haven't been on this site for a while. Thought I'd come on to see what people thought of the GF and then came across this thread.
The start was bizarre with Wolfs fans trying to drum up some sort of fiction about how our fans are sore losers. As someone said above: sore winners is far more appropriate.
The thread then turned inot some embarassing dick measuring contest about who the bigger club is, but I think it can be summed up as follows:
- the wolfs fans would trade us for our trophy cabinet in a heartbeat. - the wolfs have a better team than us currently.
I can't see much else of any relevance, although tonight shows how bottleless this Warrington club are. Fair play to get to both finals, but we know only too well that it means absolutely nothing unless you win.
This was their chance. A patched up Wigan team that were there for the taking and they were played off the park in my view. Wigan rolled down field with ease and it was only their lack of a final pass that let the wolfs off the hook.
I'm glad we didn't get there because we would have been murdered by that Wigan team.
I only dread to think what next season has in store for us under Cunningham.

But the shoe isn't on the other foot. That one "jammy" night in 2014 is still one more Championship than your club has won in 60 years. The likes of Featherstone Halifax, Dewsbury, Oldham have all won it more recently. Swinton have fallen from grace enough you send your fringe players to play there, and they still have won a Championship almost a decade more recently than Warrington! If it is that easy to get lucky and win a Grand Final, I can't help but wonder how Warrington haven't managed it yet.

maybe we are just unlucky.... you mention Dewsbury's win in 73....
of course you knew Wires topped the league that year but the champions were decided by a play off which EIGHTH place Dewsbury won.... worthy champions I'm sure you'll agree.....
the following year we won the play off competition but that year the champions tag was awarded to the league leaders... unlucky I guess.....
we then were pipped in 1994 losing out to points difference to Wigan. so still quite close even in the 90's which was our most desperate decade...
quite rightly we are open to ridicule for not winning the particular version of the championship trophy for 62 years.....
but the desperation to try and label us a small club that has won nothing is quite sad. our honours list is still quite impressive I'm guessing our overall trophy count is less than Wigans leeds and Saints and then better than the rest.
We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.
