Jason King is a monster, puts in some massive shots in every game he plays. I don't know how old he is but he looks about 35!! He would be a big signing for us, as would Blair, Kite and Gibbs. Laffanchi is tough and Waterhouse is a good aussy "journeyman", IMO both would be adequate replacements for Flannery in the back row, but are not at the level of someone like Hoffman (wash my mouth out!). Do we want another Mr Reliable second rower?

Not many are at the level of Hoffman IMO but I agree, king or kite with Laffanchi or waterhouse would be pretty good.

Not sure on what space we have on the overseas but ive got a felling Laffanchi has Italian passport or has Italian parents.

with the exchange rate and rise of the salary cap in Oz, plus massives taxes here means any superleague team will struggle to get top rate NRL talent here

Not really. A linebreaker /strike SR is required especially if he will take a quota spot.

I would use Meli in the SR to replace Flannery and use the coin on a quality
outside back.

Hill to replace Graham , NRL Monster to replace TP if he goes.

Hill to replace Graham would be a massive massive step back. I know we can't replace him as he's the best but I'd like someone much better than hill.

LMS effectively replaces Graham. Clough becomes prop 4 with Hill the project prop.
So it would not be a direct replacement.

Says it all about Lance doesn't it.

But you aren't 100% right. Players will always want to come over here. If nothing more it means getting paid a decent wage (Competition for salaries within the NRL clubs is much higher over here, so potentially a half decent NRL player would be paid a salary akin to a top class player) and they are then in England. Whilst we take it for granted the country does have a big lure for a lot of Australian and New Zealand born players. A lot of them will have come through at NRL clubs from a young age, so the chance to travel and do something new is appealing. Also a lot of them spend years under the media glare over there and see SL as a chance to 'get out' of the heat. Over here players are not household names, they can get drunk, urinate in public and no one will bat an eyelid.

Ok then, well LMS is a massive massive step back.

When top quality players leave we should be looking to replace them with highest quality players available.

I don't think clough, LMS, hill and a Aussie prop will be good IMO.

Ooops I forgot perry. I've forgot he plays for us as he's always injured.

I get the feeling we may end up signing an overseas 2nd rower / prop (Waterhouse has been mentioned) to replace Graham. That would leave us with Perry, TP, Clough and LMS with Magennis in reserve and then someone like Waterhouse who could play either role.

The problem would come if TP goes too. We would have to bring another prop then.
