The referee handled it well. It went over the left post but was slicing away to the left. If he'd handed it to the video ref it would have been just as much of a farce as the video ref had absolutely nothing conclusive to go off. On one angle it looked okay, but that angle was dead centre and it would be impossible to judge.
Only way they'll find out if it did go over the post is to do some analysis work on the footage.
Brough of course could have executed it properly like Luke Walsh did.
