Which 3 players would you pick? : Wed May 21, 2014 1:20 pm
After the '3 new players' comment stirring up some hope and expectation of some new signings, who would be the 3 players that you would most like to add to this team when everybody is fully fit? This is a fantasy land post and you have the pick of ANY players in the world.

For me I'd go with Jonathan Thurston at Stand Off, Greg Inglis at right centre and James Graham at prop.

My team would be:

1. Jonny Lomax
2. Tommy Makinson
3. Greg Inglis
4. Mark Percival
5. Adam Swift

6. Jonathan Thurston
7. Luke Walsh

8. James Graham
9. James Roby
10. Alex Walmsley
11. Sia Soliola
12. Willie Manu
13. Josh Jones

14. Kyle Amor
15. Mose Masoe
16. Anthony Laffranchi
17. Lance Hohaia

Inglis centre, Thurston to standoff and Thaiday into the pack.

I'm gonna play a slight twist, and consider salary cap and players leaving too ;) (admittedly this is just, who I think we should sign if we have a transfer budget from eamon!)

Lomax
Makinson Turner* Jones Swift
Sneyd(1) Walsh
Amor Roby Hill(2)
Kirmond(3) Greenwood
LMS

Walmsley Masoe Savelio Wilkin/ Wellens/ Thompson**

*Percival to take his place dependent on form of both of them.

**If i could have 4 - Clarke to interchange with Roby would round us off nicely!

Alternately

1) DCE 2) A Fifita 3) S Thaiday ;)

Would love to see us with a world class stand off, however I wouldnt class Lance & Walsh as the weakest links in our team and would rather see us pick up a world class centre and a bit more go forward, aggression and bit of bar steward in the pack...

1. Jonny Lomax
2. Tommy Makinson
3. Greg Inglis (1)
4. Josh Jones
5. Adam Swift
6. Lance Hohaia
7. Luke Walsh
8. Kyle Amor
9. James Roby
10. James Graham (2)
11. Sia Soliola
12. Jon Wilkin
13. Paul Gallen (3)

14. Mose Masoe
15. Alex Walmsley
16. Willie Manu/Anthony Laffranchi
17. Paul Wellens

I would say the areas we need reinforcement are:

Prop
Back row
Stand Off
Centre

My 3 choices would be as follows:

James Graham - A leader (which is what we need more than anything else), a work horse prop forward and alongside Amor he'd be fantastic in those early exchanges. Walmlsey & Masoe off the bench to provide some impact but Graham and Amor the main two props.

Sam Burgess - I know he's off to Union but I think this guy is as good as anybody. I'd play him from loose forward / back row and just let him rip in for 80 minutes.

The 3rd choice is a little bit tougher but I'd pick a Stand Off over a Centre. Outside backs can look better with good halves creating time and space. Therefore I'd go with either Jonathan Thurston or Shaun Johnson. A number 6 who can create tries and will constantly run at the line.
