How long can Roby keep making fifty tackles a game for you? Surely he is going to burn out if this continues, surely other senior players need to step up to the plate? Great news for your SL rivals though!

Mose didn't do that many carries. Those stats are BS. He made 5. I counted and also another posted he counted 5.

Luke Walsh needs to sort his tackling out. He must have missed more than any other in super league.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Re: Cats stats, read 'em and weep : Mon Jun 16, 2014 7:39 am
Seems as though Roby has had to increase his tackle count for the absence of Wilkin but at the expense of his metres.
Lots of missed tackles, is KC still our defensive coach if he is then its not working.
Just over a 1000 metres, Dawson making 14% of those, worse pack performance stat wise so far this season.
Hope every Saints player gets a copy of those stats this morning.

What are you talking about? He made 20 (which is the most he has ever made), 5 marker tackles and missed 3 tackles. I think that's his best ratio yet. They were going down that side all first half it seemed. Alex Walmsley and Josh Jones missed the most tackles at 5 each, making 27 and 24 respectively. T Mak is the worst though in terms of ratio. He made 3 and missed 3.

But Robes and Thompson did the most defensive work, and in that heat. 51 and 43, with 12 and 10 marker tackles respectively, missing 4 each. We did way too much tackling that's for sure.

Paul Wellens made all of 13 tackles with 3 marker tackles. What was he doing?

His defence at times isn't up to scratch. He can make some good tackles but then they walk past him. To many players in this team missing 3/4/5 tackles each week.

I don't care about ratio, this is rugby not school.

Well you should care about the ratio because while Robes made 51, he missed 4, so should he be slated for missing 4? No, of course not.

Yes, Walsh gets skinned. He's not quick enough in defence. He has to set himself up. Just like Walmsley can't play the ball properly and so we rarely get a quick PTB when he has been tackled.

It's obvious that all the team need to up their defence - although Wheeler for all his invisibility in attack made 23 tackles with no misses - but we wouldn't have been in that situation had it not been for dropped ball, penalties and a generally screwed up attack (which Brown changed for some reason when attack was not the bloody problem).

Just checked the stats, Walsh isn't in the top 50 for missed tackles in Super League.

The person who was topping that table was Scott Moore. I don't know whether that's still the case.

We don't have a defence coach. KC is supposed to be coaching the forwards. So far he's making an extremely bad job of it.

Only one player made 100m and that was Dawson, a back. The forwards generally made half of that. While Robes and Thompson clearly were too busy saving everyone's skin in defence, and so to a point can be excused, the rest of our forwards cannot. They should have their boll ocks worked off this week.
