just finished watching a video of Wigan 22 v Saints 32 in 1987.There was a try scored by Phil Vievers he bent down to score, as he was straightning up Shelford sent him flying.The ref gave the try & the coversion was good then the ref pointed in front of the post for the penalty kick.The Wheeler try V Hudds wqs something similar when Brough pulled him back why was that not a 8 point try a conversion & a penalty.I mentioned the 1987 game my son & wife said they have never seen that done before.Has that rule been done away with.I do not bother with rules much apart from gerrom onside & forward pass:):).Perhaps someone will know the answer or was them two tries somewhat different in the scoring of.
