Should have the book thrown at him too. Pathetic behaviour from him and Leeds as a club. The response from the RFL was required, surely Leeds can see that. If social media is making a serious allegation against a player and there is some evidence to support it (As there was with the blowing of kisses and possible video of homophobic words being used) then they simply have to investigate it.

What has happened here is that the lip readers said it was inconclusive and the Saints players refused to give evidence (Not good on Flanagan's part IMO) in support of the player as tends to happen with rugby players, so they've had to go with the insufficient evidence outcome.

I really don't see any room for Leeds to complain about the process. Had the RFL ignored it, it would have made the sport look bad. Perhaps they made the ref change his statement to mention it, if so, so what provided the investigation was completed properly as it appears to have been.

Misconduct and actions contrary to the RFL's Code of Conduct, specifically for questioning the intentions of the RFL for investigating Zac Hardaker and calling it's integrity into question.

He's also quoted in The Sun saying he would be 'appalled' if Catalan were allowed to sign Carney.

Are you serious making this comment ?

Maybe you would like to retract this paragraph as you appear to be condoning a match official falsifying his match report .

Did he falsify his match report though? Leeds accused him of doing that but there was nothing official said from any other outlet. The fact that Leeds made that accusation, and possibly its untruthfulness (we don't know), maybe the basis for the action that the RFL is now taking. It's one thing saying that the ref had a rubbish game and taking a fine for your troubles; its another thing altogether to accuse a referee and the governing body of corruption, which is exactly what falsifying a report would be.

I don't really see why he's so aggrieved. No charges were brought for whatever reasons. An investigation is not the same as being charged....any idiot can see/understand that.

Oh, and the comments about Carney. Is he for real?

Personally I think the RFL have more serious problems to worry about, like the Championship appeal. It is about time Red Hall got their act together and many Super League Clubs.

I did not agree with how the RFL dealt with the possible shield presentation at the Warrington game, the shield should never have been on show, it looked a joke at one time on top of a towel on a chair pitch side, but then it had to be taken away when it was known that it would not be presented, but for then McManus to say it could have caused crowd problems in the next match programme and openly to criticise the RFL and Sky was completely inappropriate, his comments about possible trouble from fans was a slur on Saints fans, who have never had crowd problems. Sometimes Chairman and CEO's should be seen and not heard! or think before they say or write anything.
