Very interesting Hohaia has dropped out ... Does this imply KC doesn't see him as a solution to interchange with Roby?

It means, as many thought, Wilkin can't be dropped.

Was Wilkin ever going to be dropped for this game? Whether you agree or disagree with having Wilkin ahead of Hohaia for backup 7, why would you spend the preseason and opening 2 games of the season with one halfback pairing to change now?it would be enough of a risk with Walsh, let alone Hohaia.

The interest with Wilkin will come when Walsh is back. With Greenwood and Vea in good form, and the size of the bench being a major advantage of ours, where does he fit in?

Are you for real? He 100% completely deserves his place in the side from what we've seen so far. You can't underestimate the importance of an experienced, proven winner in games like this.

48 hours from the biggest game in years and people like you are sniping at the captain for no apparent reason. Get a grip man.

On a few sites like Facebook and the rest, a few people want Paul Wellens to start at Full Back or be on the bench due to his exploits in the Grand Final last year. Now I take a different view on this, there is no room for sentiment in this game as we need our strongest 17 players out there that are fit and to be quite honest nobody deserves dropping after last weeks performance despite Salford being so poor. I am totally confident that the team are more than capable of matching it with Sydney, having Wilkin in the halves could especially help us out in defence with him being a extra forward and to people jumping on his back wanting to be dropped is just ridiculous, get behind the guy, he is our leader for crying out loud. Its a shame Luke Walsh isn't fit but I am confident Wilkin and Burns have the ability to guide the team around wish they did superbly against Salford and to some extent against Catalan. If we are only 4-6 points behind in the final quarter then I will back us too win. The first 20 minutes like any Rugby League game is crucial, get in the arm wrestle and dominate and get on top of the Sydney pack, good kicking game and see where it takes us. I am looking forward to hearing 18,500 Saints fans roaring the team on. The players wont leave anything in the dressing room, we as supporters need to make sure we leave nothing left in our voices and make Langtree Park a caldron of noise. I hope everyone enjoys the game...

Not necessarily. Looking at Souths pack, I think we'll need to fight fire with fire and go big ourselves. I also anticipate Wellens will miss out too as a result.

Bringing Hohaia on for 10-15 minutes seems pointless when Roby will probably play the whole game anyway.

Looks like very heavy rain for your game on Sunday.

Who do think it'll favour?

Nightmare for the wingers and fullbacks from high kicks?

Would that be a reason for having Wellens in the squad i.e experience?

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Squad Named : Fri Feb 20, 2015 5:59 pm
Wellens and Flanagan to miss out for me.

But I know others prefer Flanagan to Jones.

I'd imagine Lance was not in the squad as they would rather have the extra forward on the bench, rather than trial a new halfback partnership in this game or give Roby a break for 20 mins of the match.

We'll need those 60+ tackles from Roby.
