We didn't deserve a thing from that. Burns's pass was 5m forward and Wilkin's was pretty debatable too.Where do you start tonight? You start by saying Hull KR are shocking. Defensively woeful, their wingers and fullback can't deal with any bombs and their back row and centres could tackle a bowl of Weetabix. They didn't even have a pack on the field tonight, Green was about their only forward and he spent the game charging round committing fouls.
The backs tonight were shocking. I've never seen a half back showing as bad in years, and that's saying something given how we've set for half backs. Neither of them did anything good tonight and they gave that game away with some incredibly naive, stupid, lazy ball play. Saints got the ball into their 10 repeatedly and didn't threaten the line once in that position. It was just a lazy, scripted swing one way or the other with a lazy pass to the first player. Burns's defending is also a massive concern, he can smash second rowers but he drops off other players and just doesn't read anything properly. He's cost us several tries already this season. Swift shouldn't be playing for us for a long time, not until he's proven he can play in the youth team for an extended period. Turner/Jones/Dawson did nothing wrong, but nothing right either.
The pack didn't do enough either. They had a clear advantage and didn't capitalise on it. WTF was Cunningham playing at with his use of Mose? With his size against that pack from Hull KR, he should have been doing 60 minutes, not 8 in the first and 8 in the second. Every time he got the ball in the second half he got 15 metres plus, why not have him crashing onto the ball near their line? We were always going to lose our unbeaten record, I had thought it may be next week however. Tonight was unacceptable, the kind of performance that can ruin a side's confidence. If we'd gone in tonight and played it all through the middle and been more professional and clinical near their line early on and we'd have walked it tonight by 20 plus.
