Our recruitment drive over the last couple of years is shocking to say the least. Pound land style. Were giving out extensions to people who do not deserve them Cunningham and Dawson just to name a few.
So who is to blame ? Rush out of his depth ? Or has Eamonns money run dry ? Every option we make seems the 'cheap' option.
I mean we have lacked any speed or spark since Eastmond left really so we go and buy Burns while Hull KR sign Kelly. We sign Fages while Salford go and sign Lui ( these are blokes who looked exciting in the NRL by the way).
Shannon Mcdonnell and Dominic Peyroux, absolute bargain basement overseas players. Hull are signing the likes of Mane Fonua a regular at Melbourne while we sign Peyroux.
Another thing is us constantly bigging up our signings to try and fool the fans. Cunningham already in different interviews has started Lama Tasi is a different beast to Mose and he looks awesome, Owens he couldn't believe Widnes wanted rid and has looked exceptional and Peyroux has looked exceptional in pre season training according to KC. Who the hell are the club trying to fool ?
Were not over reacting we can all see our club s falling behind big time. Don't be fooled by the hudds game then conditions made it a leveller.

Our recruitment and retention post 2006/7 was shocking but under Brown we signed the likes of Walsh, Burns, Vea, amor, Walsmley, Turner etc which did put us back in the challengers category but after we won the grand final we are back to siging crap again .
Isn't McManus taking a back seat and concentrating on the business side of things to make us a profit making club, I think Rush is just that, rushing around for players that don't quite fit. KC talks about complacency maybe it runs right through the club, we can get away with it sometimes because the standard of super league is pretty poor, the club has talked about recruitment for strength in depth. We've incurred a few injuries and we are already looking just as bad as last season, can see lots of ups and downs on the horizon another frustrating season well on its way.
Pushing the boundaries I know but let's be honest love him or hate him he had that bit of pace off the mark that could create something from nothing he also offerd a decent support play. At the minute we have 3 ball players and not one of them could go thru a gap like Lui did last night. Which leads us being a predictable attacking unit.
Too many out of their depth, I was shocked when KC was given the contract extension so quickly, a good player does not always guarantee a top coach, perhaps more experience as an assistant was needed, though Rush may be a nice guy, was he ever made for the position he was given?
Back in the days of the one-match World Club game, the RFL used to give the British participant an easy ride until the game, giving them clubs lower down the pecking order. It stands out because Wakey have played the World Club team the week before the big game a few times, including Saints, I think. Each time, Wakey won. We slaughtered Warrington about three years ago, at their place, the week before a Challenge Cup final.
The week before a big game is a nightmare for teams, and a great chance for the team playing them. I wouldn't read too much into a lack of focus. I'm guessing it's all on next week.

Oh come ON ! That's a terrible excuse for the worst display seen in a Saints shirt for a decade or more.

Week before a big game ? We ain't in the wcc you know? We are playing a meaningless friendly against the roosters. Win or lose it don't matter and I certainly wouldn't play Robes or Walmsley.

Oh, it was bad all right. As a Wakey fan, I'm used to being beaten, but it would have been a low point even for us. Just trying to put it in context. I like Saints, but that was a bad one.
