"...the biggest boor, the most opinionated pompous bigot that frequents these
boards and he is NOT to be taken at all seriously. "

Here's a sobering thought... : Fri Jun 03, 2016 9:23 pm
We've now no chance of getting in the top 4, and our points gap with the top 4 is such that the "Top Eight" session will be no more than warm-up games for the actual top four. We're cannon-fodder.

Next week, we're very likely to be snotted by Catalans, and so also likely to slip down to 6th, or even 7th. We look the worst team in the competition at present, with far more attacking ability shown by both Wakey and Hull KR yesterday.

If Salford hadn't had their 6 point deduction, we'd now be in very real danger of finding ourselves fighting it out for relegation in the middle eights.

How long are we going to let this go, make excuses, spout another pile of steaming clichés and platitudes about "as a group", "need for performance", "looking for consistency" "bad luck", and let a single occasional try blind us to what's right in front of us ?

If we don't make some serious changes, now, then we're in danger of losing our status as one of the big clubs in the competition, and becoming, at best, mid-table mediocrity for years to come.

Sack Cunningham. Wield the axe with the sub-standard roster he's recruited. Stop the rot.

Put some of the young players on the field. Grace, Wellington, etc. Put some of out antipodean superstars in the stand.

That is what Hull FC used their last few games last year for.

Re: Here's a sobering thought... : Sat Jun 04, 2016 1:29 pm
We can write this year off. With respect, if we saw Castleford or Wakefield 6 points off the top 4 we'd think they have no chance of making that up. We are the same despite our name.

The club either need to back him and get some proper big names in (Hardaker available, Luke Lewis been rumoured), or get rid. My preference would be the second one, with Wellens and Talbot seeing the rest of this year out as its a write off. Then my choice for next year would be Powell although I'd take anything at present. Due to the inactions of McManus KC is now being subjected to personal abuse as he hasn't been put out of his misery. I've done my best to leave it and to avoid a knee jerk reaction, but I honestly think next year this is what we need.

Lomax
Makinson
Percival
New centre
Swift
Fages
Walsh (rumour he's staying)
Amor
Roby
Thompson
New back rower
New back rower
Knowles

Walmsley
Greenwood
New prop
New hooker.

I'd possibly want one or two more but I'm trying to be realistic in terms of what we can do in one off season. I think that's what's needed for this squad at the minute and I don't trust anyone at the club at the minute to make those decisions.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Once we know mathematically we will become Cannon Fodder we can drop our under performers and give Wellington, Grace, Richardson, Ashworth, Knowles and Levy some game time. In the absence of proven coaches availability I would give Wellens the job and get Purtill back as his assistant.
We really need a full back, 2 wingers and a centre with plenty of size, in the pack 2 props and a marquee signing loose forward. For me Lomax should spell Roby and could cover in the halves. KC has created a lot of deadwood in the squad that are just not to standard:-

Wilkin
Richards
Tasi
Peyroux
Vea
Turner
Owen
Dawson
Sav (?)

The problem with a big clearout is that we lose stability and next season could be a struggle as well, but we need signs from the club that we are going in the right direction.

What on earth has happened to Andre Savillo???
In the close season we offered a fair bit of salary cap to try and get him. Saints fans on here were rightly saying he is a star of the future and they hoped Saints could get a few seasons out of him before he went to the NRL.

One of KC scapegoats. It's the usual suspects with KC yet certain players stealing a living.

Sav isn't happy either like few others.

I was wondering what happened to Sav thought he might have injured or something. Him and big Alex no longer are playing there natural game and look de coached this season and it looks as though Greenwood is going the same way despite a promising start.
