It's in League Express that we've signed a hooker from Super League. People on Redvee are saying it's an out of contract player from this side of the pennines. Which only leaves Logan Tomkins and Tommy Lee

Surely to god we've not fallen that far? I'll be getting a block from the Saints Twitter feed if it's another shocker.

It's a shame you are bagging him. I like Tommy Lee. He's a true professional and will give 100% every game. Too many of that type of hard working player aren't valued.

This type of signing is fine but only after you've got the couple of big ones in the bag you need.

It's not ideal that it looks to have come out because had it been announced after you confirmed a couple of signings that would excite people everyone would say he's a solid squad player.

Spot on.

If he turns out to be one of 4 or 5 signings and the others are all of a higher standard (no disrespect intended) then we could stomach it and understand it.

But the fact he is the first signing to become public is an extremely underwhelming start to our recruitment for 2017 and will do nothing to lift the current mood of the fans. Awful PR from the club to allow this to be the first bit of news that is coming out.
