In the short term he was not best served by often being played in different positions - as and where in our depleted squad he was needed. In the longer term this might prove to be a valuable experience.
I think it may be some time yet before we, and him, find his best position depending on his improvement in certain areas as other posters have noted.
Whist I am sceptical about the base lines of statistics and the fact that he has played in the forwards and backs they do echo previous comments.
His work rate is exceptional being the second top tackler in 2013 just behind NS with 642 but missed 89, a ratio that needs to be improved.
He was the club's second top ball carrier with 377 carries but his average gain was only 5 meters, with only 8 offloads indicating perhaps a lack of applied power.

I do hope he can make these improvements to add to his excellent ball playing/kicking skills when he could make the LF spot -should FC not choose to to play a prop there.
If he cannot he will remain a "utility" player and he should be better than that.

I don't think Granny wants a prop at LF, but I think he is looking from a dynamic and dangerous ball runner that can break tackles and offload the ball. Which to me Danny Addy can do pretty effectively. Yes he does need to improve his tackling, but that is something that can be worked on and improved with strength and size. You cant teach what Danny Addy has got, and that's a rugby brain. This will be what sets out Danny from the rest of the LF hopefuls we have had recently.

I think Addy is the cliché 'rough diamond' and lets not forget he is only 22 so still pretty young with hopefully plenty of improvement. His weaknesses are obvious but hopefully he will improve those and even at his current level he makes up for it in attack. I'm hoping this experience in the World Cup will really drive him into taking that next step up in class. I expect him to be a key player for us next year.
