No, people wouldn't know to dig out a news article, and there shouldn't be different squads on different pages, and the squad in the article was different from the squad at the shirt presentations.

Whoever does the website/media releases obviously needs to double check their articles anyway. If you look at the announcement of the squad for Dewsbury here, the article says "First-team regulars......are to be joined by youngsters including Adam O'Brien......". Similarly, there's another story interviewing O'Brien saying he's looking forward to the game. But if you actually read the 20 names announced for the squad, in the same article I've quoted above, Adam O'Brien's name isn't even there.

I think I'll hang on until the opening game and the squad list should be on the programme......, though, of course, it might or might not be the correct one.

The 20-year-old hooker, who is to act as understudy to skipper Matt Diskin this term, has been named as part of a 20-man squad to face Dewsbury Rams later today. Except that he wasn't. And isn't playing. All very odd really. Far from the end of the world, but it does look a bit amateur, especially the original article that said he was in the squad, but didn't list him (in the very same article).
