Seems like we are in good company with Newcastle knights in Australia not paying there players and staff this month. Is this a bad sign for rugby league in a whole. They are a very big club and if they are in financial difficulties how does that bode for the game as a whole

It's indifferent for the game as a whole really, there's not much to compare with our situation. It's a one club town with some of the biggest crowds in the league irrespective of their league position in an area not short of wealthy people. They have every right to be concerned in the short term but the future of the club's not in doubt.

The amazing thing about Newcastle's story is how the owner went from being a billionaire digging Australia's biggest export out of the ground and selling it to an electricity starved China to a guy unable to get a bank loan.

Their owner went from youngest billionaire in aus, to practically broke. It's an impressive effort it has to be said!
