2016 - Season Highlights : Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:54 am  

Unsurprsingly - a lot of negativity at the moment. Took me a few weeks to recover from MPG - couldn't stop thinking about it.

However, I won't be downbeat. We are visiting teams (again) that can be a rewarding visit outside of the rugby.

So, for what its worth - here is my year planner for next seasons away days (and weekends) - hope to inspire some of my fellow depressed fans!

Sat 13/02 Whitehaven Away - Friday night beer and food Ambleside - Sat morning walk up Helvellyn - food - game

Sun 21/02 Swinton Away - Morning - wander round Salford Quays and IWM North - food - game

Sun 06/03 Oldham Away - Wander round Lancaster Park & Farm - food - game

Sun 13/03 Batley Away - Best pies in all divisions of Rugby League - home made and oven baked

Mon 28/03 Halifax Away - Piece Hall (if complete) - food - game

Sun 10/03 Dewsbury Away - car boot sale - food - game

Sun 01/05 London Away - train down Friday night - beer food - Sat & Sun sightseeing - food - game

Sun 22/05 Sheffield Away - Sheffield Winter Garden - National Emergency Services Museum - food - game

Fri 27/05 Blackpool weekend - all spent in Lytham St Annes apart from game time (all games)

Sun 12/06 Whitehaven Away - Fri night beer and food in Keswick - Sat - walk Grisefale Pike - food - beer Keswick - Sun - Game

Sun 24/07 Featherstone Away - ski at Xscape - food - game

Couldn't particularly think of anything I was looking forward to but now I've read that Jimmy is going to pick McBanana's brains I can't wait.

You old cynic. When England have smashed the Kiwis 3- 0 in the series you'll be changing your tune.

Season highlight was the game against Leigh at Odsal, not for the game itself but for the day. A decent crowd and atmosphere, it took me back to the good old days of 4, 5 or more seasons ago when we weren't in the middle of a financial crisis.

Batley away - Stewards who are actually happy that you are there.

Dewsbury away - A mate owns a bit of the club so its always nice to see his disappointment when we have beaten them.

Must admit the Leigh match at Odsal was the most exciting game and the crowd were brilliant. Went home feeling elated like I used to do in the past. Also thought the referee was good, and controlled the game well.
