I have been trying to work out the Middle 8s fixtures with the misses, and looking at tonight's victory for Leeds, it leaves an interesting scenario. If Salford lose their game to Hull FC, which I expect, and Batley win, whoever wins from us or Fev will play both Leeds and Leigh at home. That would be an extremely lucrative set of fixtures for any Championship club in such a short period of time. This is of course assuming that the fixtures are arranged as they were last year, following this link http://www.therfl.co.uk/rlnewera. Never thought I'd want to finish fourth!

I always wanted to finish fourth once the top 2 was out of contention. The best way of getting to the million pound game is to beat all the other Championship clubs so playing Leigh at home would help.

Obviously this theory is for both Bradford and Featherstone as there's a small matter to settle first.

Best case is we are in the comp. I just hope we do ourselves justice on Sunday and we haven't saved one of our lacklustre performances that we've seen too often this year. Fev are full of confidence and at home, it's going to take a big effort.

Shame we don't have halfbacks who've had a season and a half in the job, but there we are. You'd think it needs to be a day when mainly
(a) we get off to a good start on the front foot;
(b) we convert enough of good field position into enough points; and
(c) we don't revert to type and break out the shotguns to start blasting our own feet in the final quarter.
