Making 14 appearances in the top grade this year, Leary has played a range of roles for the club.
From starting in the backrow and at hooker, 12 of his games were started from the bench and saw him add lock and centre to his repertoire.
But the constant change has come at a price.
“My preferred positions are backrow and lock and I played the least amount of my time there,” he said.
“The utility thing sort of shot myself in the foot there a little bit.
“I was looked as a back-up player because I can cover a few positions, I was there if someone went down (and) it’s done nothing for my football this year but in saying that, they’re a great bunch of blokes.
“I love consistently playing a position and knowing where I am going to be. I would sit out there not knowing which makes it hard to prepare but what can you do, I’m playing NRL.
2nd row and LF look like enough utility for him and us.
