So when it's a season long loan he can still be recalled and then not return?? Why do they call it a season long loan.

For the 500th time. It's down to the clubs as to the recall clause. The only rule is that a player can't be recalled within the first 4 weeks of any loan deal. After that, it's totally up to the clubs and what deal they make. It can be recall or non-recall. Season long loan with recall option is exactly that, it's intended to be for the season but if the parent club needs him, they can bring him back. That's what Larroyer was on. Hardaker for example is on a non-recall version, so Leeds couldn't call him back even if they wanted to, that wasn't the deal.

They all are really. Whether they say it's for a month or for a season, they're all subject to the same rules and if a club enters a recall clause, then the length of it is largely irrelevant, they'll call the player back when they need him regardless.
