Well, because we are unlikely to get anybody remotely at his level in the game. And from his POV I assume he would take a better job if one came along, as would we all. And I assume he has in mind the loyalty shown by the club to predecessors and is rightly mainly looking after number 1. As we all would.
If Chalmers as employer hasn't given him a deadline then whose fault - if that is a fault - is that? If Chalmers is happy to give Toovey until November to see if he wants this job or some other, can you blame Toovey and his agent for using the time?
Toovey is not a Bull. he has no historic connection with the club, and only officially started when the season was nearly over. He doesn't owe us much, in the circumstances he was thrown in. So why should he wear sackcloth and ashes if offerd say an NRL assistant job or similar in sunny Aus? How many of those criticising him have yet bought a season ticket?
It is my pleasure to say: THIS, FA.
