I get the impression that JK sees Doncaster as another banana skin and wants to try and ensure there's no repeat of what happened at Workington. This is what he said in the T&A today about the loan signings.
" We can get them on the field of play for us on Sunday and then they'll have a full fortnight's training before we come up against Doncaster. "
He also sounded very pleased to land Jy Hitchcox.
"I'd like to thank Jon Wells, Daryl Powell and all at Castleford. Jy is an absolute quality player and played in last year's Grand Final. As soon as we knew we were losing Jake we felt we had to do something and that was the result. I appreciate Castleford's prompt actions for helping and obviously the chairman because once again he has backed us. I couldn't have asked for anything better. He's been first class. "
It sounds like he doesn't want to take any chances with unproven players in the big games and sees this signing as a bit of a coup with the Doncaster game in mind. With both the loans being cup tied ,along with Chisolm banned and Mcnally injured, then some of the reserves, who have been knocking on the door, will probably get their reward by playing against Warrington.
