We were parked behind the corporate stand, and while we were queuing to leave the car park there was an ambulance working it’s was round to the back of the stand.

What is up with our pitch? All the grass around the edges and in the corners was dead!
The first team haven't played on it in nearly a month, there's no way it should look that bad.

The corners are a special case as they are on boards and there is no earth underneath, just the old speedway track. Which doesn't explain the test of the pitch which definitely looked as though it hadn't been watered. If they have a meter (I assume they do), they could haved asked and we could all have brought a bottle of water to the game - assuming we could get them past the bag checks of course...

I was an underwhelming performance to be honest, though I know I'm being picky. 50 points was far from a bad score, though it just looked as though it could have been many more and how we conceded 12 points to a team which, despite being talked up before the game, never looked capable of breaking us down, is beyond me. Though I guess I'm just being picky again.

Watch Ashley Gibson when they scored their first try.
The next time somebody tells me Oakes isn't getting a shot because of his defence, I'll refer them back to this moment.

MoM for me were three people. Referee and Touchies. A ref who listened to the touchies and touchies who weren't afraid to let the ref know he was mistake.

Certainly made the game far more entertaining with them letting the player get on with it rather than trying to take centre stage...

Have said it before what does Gibson bring to the side? He was totally to blame for that try. Maybe Oakes had a howler defensively in the Dewsbury friendly but at least he knows how to pass a ball, and last year was an emerging stand out centre. Is it because Gibson is on big money that he always gets in? It can`t be on performance.

For me Gibson has to be in for his defence since in attack he runs sideways and seems unable to pass. I'd have given Oakes a run in the past few (easier) games to put a bit of pressure on Gibson. Smith could swap to the right side.

I'd even pick Liam Johnson there at the moment even though he's more of a second row.

Shame McNally pulled his thigh again as he made a few classy moves while he was on.

That's true enough, though we were a bit fortunate with their third 'try'. I'm not disputing the call which must have been pretty marginal, but it was a cracking move which deserved a score.

Couldn't make the game Saturday so cant comment on Gibsons performance. However i watched the reserves game and i thought Oakes was very good yes it's against poor oppoisiton but his passing to the supporting man was spot on each time. I'd love him to get a run of games with Ethan as i really think that partnership could blossom.

He was in the 19 man squad for Crusaders so he's in Kears thoughts. But i don't think he will drop Gibson for Oakes. Might make it to the bench.
