Did you see the game?, I wondered if Moss looked the part i.e. could he slot in the halves for the Fax game.... ? Without Gaskell we definitely lack something

Yes I went to watch it, Moss had a steady game, definitely grew into it as it went on. Obviously he's missed 6 weeks or more with the injury. So was understandably rusty, also its the first time I'd say that spine has played together, Moss, Ackroyd, Ott and Jowitt so attacking combinations and timings where off at times. Moss started to have more influence on the game 2nd half, put a few nice grubbers in that forced goal line drop outs, so was ending sets well and building pressure. We scored off one of those drops outs a few tackles into a set. He also kicked through and chased himself for his try. Big ask maybe to come in straight away against Halifax but if needs must he'll do a job. Ott looked really sharp in and around dummy half, tackle efficiency is really good, worked had, decent running game out of dummy half as well. Maybe Corey Johnson to half back with Lilley and if his visa clears have Ott on the bench as a hooker and half back option. Give Moss maybe a couple more reserve games to get back to fully match speed and fitness. Think we will have some options there just depending what EO goes with. He was there watching as well and Mr Wood.

We Shouldn't really have signed Gaskell for the second time really..
Injury prone, a little over the hill and left under a very dark cloud last time with us.
They are obviously looking at replacing him if the link to the Widnes HB is to be believed.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

It's going to be difficult to recruit at this time of the season. No harm in making enquiries. A few clubs out there may have money problems which might make them more likely to sell.
I would love to believe we are making proper enquires but I just can't see any cash been coughed up.

I see Saints are thinking about putting Tee Ritson out on loan to get some game time. He would be great for us for a couple of games whilst Jorge is out.

We'd likely have to pay well over the odds anyway. I can see us trying a mixture of Lilley, Johnson, Ott and Moss in the halves in the next 6 weeks. Ideally Moss will show himself worthy of a contract and be an able deputy for Gaskell. We're going to need a replacement for him in 2025 anyway.

Cheers BullRaider, your insight is appreciated, i don't get chance to get to these games. Well from what you've said Moss (& Co) show some promise. Although it's not ideal bringing players into the first team too early, i guess we'll have to see how we're doing for numbers for Fridays game.
