Halley :) : Sat Apr 11, 2009 1:39 am
Am I right in thinking he's only signed up till the end of this season? If so he needs to be near the top of the priority list with Morro, Lynch, Cook & Newton. Absolute quality performance from him tonight, Platt won't get a look in if he keeps playing like that. I wish it was Halley on the 3yr contract, not Platt.

He seems more consistent than platt but then again i don't see him every week.
He did the buisness at wakey so i guess he won't be short on offer's if you don't sign him long term.

Yes you are correct. It was the right decision to drop Platt for Halley tonight and in my books should have been done a bit sooner. Dave usually performs like that given the odd mistake here and there, I said to father tonight what Dave gives up in bulk he makes up for in enthusiasm and brains. He's a smart player and rarley makes mistakes and he should remain our first choice for the forceeable future in my eyes. Top game from him.

Yeah, he looks confident under the high ball aswell. Our priorities for re-signing should be:

Lynch
Morro
Halley
Newton
Cook
Sykes

Solid under it

If Newton performed every week like he did tonight then I would have no objections to him been given a new deal, other than that I think your suggestions are accurate. Cook for me has to be priority over Morrison though, he's turning into a very similar player to Glenn in terms of worth ethic and he's got youth on his side. We'll get years of quality out of Cooky if we look after him correctly in my view.

Matt James, Jeffries and possibly Tadulala are deserving of a new contract aswell. Depending on how well he does upon his return possibly Solomona aswell (if he can keep off the pies)

Matt james? surely u jess..the guys done nothing for us ever, everytime he plays he looks like he cant be bothered.

Morros contract extension isnt a priority as he wants one, we dont have to go braying on his door as he`s already knocked on maccas.

Solo isnt getting a new deal.

Ive heard lynch wants to leave, bulls dont want him to but he wants to go, unless he has a big change of heart we need to get a new prop in ala glenn hall.

Halley is a priority but think bulls have burnt their bridges there, he could have got a longer contract last yr but said he would rather have a 1 yr and earn a bumper offer..which to me he has..played full back cos platt was poorly and proved that is his preferred position.

Cook will be offered a new deal and will sign it..he could have gone wire last season and northampton yr before but chose to stay and fight for his place.

The season starts in October. Until then, don't panic!

Sam Burgess is a better full back than Platt.

Halley needs signing up pronto long term. His kick return is pretty slick.

If that's correct then I'm pretty concerned. He's a player we definitely need to keep hold of.

As for Morrison, he almost fell out of the coaching box last night when we went in for one of our tries. Should definitely stay.
