I'd read that and the bit about cheating on the cognitive tests was pretty disturbing. Were they being encouraged to do this by the club so they could avoid long lay offs?

That's a really powerful article. For those that haven't read it, shontaynes brain was eventually so swollen that he would lapse into unconscious in a normal tackle not just a head knock. Even though he's retired he's still not right.

Rugby players really are the most staggeringly brave blokes, but it seems some coaches push for even more than that.

That's one hell of an article. I suppose, to some extent, we all know about players playing with 'knocks' and the like but this really is on a different scale. All the best Shonny.
