Cup game vs Warrington : Tue Jun 03, 2014 12:08 pm
Can't believe there isn't a thread on this already.

What are you lot thinking regarding Sunday? We're struggling with 2nd rowers and are probably going to play one from the 19's. Westwood banned, Waterhouse, Laithwaite, Currie and Grix all injured and last week we let Danny Bridge go on loan to Fev. If we play anything like we did when we came to Odsal last time you'll batter us again, but with our recent form I can't see anything other than a Warrington win.

Bradford 12- 36 Warrington.

I'd expect a result like that too.

In greater scheme of things cup game doesn't really matter. We need to concentrate on league. Showing a improvement in our defence and keeping shoreline respectable, with no further injuries, will do for me. Getting a win would be a bonus but possibly a double edged sword with extra fixture we then have to play with a small squad.

The best result for me? Come out with no injuries. Other fish to fry this year.

So did I before the last match against the Wire at Odsal.

A valiant defeat, with no injuries, would be OK with me.

I guess the cup is a nice diversion from the league worries but it is the league where all our major efforts need to be put. That said, a stuffing would not do us any good at all, though I guess Wire will come with a point to prove after the earlier game. Even the 'valiant defeat' would be a victory, of sorts, against strong opposition like Warrington.

Cannot see anything other than a comfortable Wire win. But it's the cup and you never know! A semi final day out would give the club a boost.

Its a difficult one because you cannot or should not coach a team into a game with the approach of ''The league is more important''

Although at times it has appeared that some players have been un-interested... you never go into a game expecting to lose, its just not in the nature of a sports professional. You can accept its going to be tough but to admit losing before you have stepped on the field... I don't thing so.

We are not really in the position to rest players but maybe the young guys from Leeds will get a run out... Foster back in maybe to try prove himself. Other than that Cummins will be training them to a game plan which he hopes will win the game and expect them to follow it.

I fancy us to pinch the win by 2

I agree the team shouldn't admit defeat before the game - to be fair, we'll need an all-out effort to secure my 'valiant defeat'. What we mustn't do though is risk players who are carrying the sort of knocks where players might normally be patched up and put out on the field. As someone else said earlier up the thread, "we have bigger [to us] fish to fry".

Would I like to be in the semi? Of course I would.
Would I be happy if beating Wire meant we lost players for the game in Salford? Like hell I would.
