How can Mr G know how much was owed by BBH if he does not know who is owed the money? Open to abuse? Here Mr G a piece of paper with the sum of money owed to me by BBH - signed anon.
It begs the question was Mr G upto the job?

I suspect dodgy reporting. Given that the lists of secured and unsecured creditors are added up and the total, to the penny, is contained in the report, it would be impossible to add an anonymous creditor. You have a pile of paper unsecured creditor claims and therefore in each case you (by definition) know who each one is.

As there is not a penny left for anyone you can claim all you want as the liquidator wont waste anytime checking claims. £1m owed to Mr Bloggs - whatever!

This isn't even the most recent administration but an interesting question to pass the time - if you took all the amounts owed in the two Bulls pile ups and paid them in 1p coins would it actually fill the Odsal bowl?

Wel, the volume of a 1p coin is roughly 0.535 cm3 and the very approximate volume of the Odsal bowl would be 4601390000000 cm3.

That's around 86 trillion pence. But you'd have to allow for spaces between the coins, so round it up to 100 trillion. Which is £1 trillion

So I reckon at the same rate, we have enough space to go bust over 8 hundred thousand times before we run out of penny space

or alternatively we could re-lay the pitch with a 25mm thick layer of 1p coins instead of grass. that'll sort the men from the boys when tacles start flying in.

Err, to do what I call an FA: don't you mean round down? Assume the 1p coin had a diameter of 10 units. a square 10 x 10 units would be 100 square units . a circle with that diameter would be 5 x 5 x 3.14 which is 78.5 square units. so the solid volume of 86 trillion coins would with gaps in be reduced to 78.5% which is 67.51. however there is that lip around the edges of the coin, so round it down to 67 trillion. ok, FA I agree, some will be worn, so 67.01 trillion.
