Its being reported Francis won his case with two key witnesses being OK and Gerry Sutcliffe.. £20,000 to be paid on account and the final amount to be decided by the court. FFS will this club ever get out of court settlements, so form now on you can't sack a crap coach. Not a happy bunny

You can sack a crap coach but you still have to pay out remainder of his contract. That's way it's always been. Only way to get rid before end of contract is if there some form of gross misconduct ( being poor at job doesn't count ) or if you put in some form of performance related clause.

I actually bumped into Francis, Omar and Gerry all making their way out of court in Leeds city centre yesterday, did a double take when I realised who it was!
I'm guessing it wasn't quite as clear cut as a simple dispute over the wording of a contract, otherwise there would be no need for Gerry/Omar to give evidence.
But I'm actually glad Francis won the case. It would have set a dangerous precedent if he had lost in my opinion, and as mat said above, being a poor coach is not enough to warrant losing your job without being paid a penny of what you were still contractually owed.

We are not good with lawsuits. What we really need is a chairman who works in the legal industry such as a solicitor etc so we never lose a case - Oh, wait a minute!

There must have been some ambiguous wording in the contract that Marc Greens legal Team thought gave them a let out, poor advice as Judges take a dim view when it comes to denying people their dues. Never mind the usual we will take stock and see if an appeal is viable. Marc Man up and Pay Franny otherwise it will be your reputation taking a bigger hit than your wallet!

The court has clearly decided that it was wrongful dismissal. Period. Non of us would like losing our employment and left out in the cold with all the financial responsibilities.

Actually there is a disciplinary procedure for under performance in the work place that can lose a person his or her employment.

With Omar and Gerry supporting Francis, It is clear the Bulls have made some enemies along the way.

I do not think Mr Greens reputation is at all in danger. This is just a legal matter and Is being sorted out.

Bulls website states that they are "taking stock" before "deciding on the next course of action".

I'd like them to just draw a line under it to be honest. Further action may, or may not, bring about a different result, but it has a slight hint of vindictiveness about it, which I find hard to believe as Marc doesn't come across as that sort of bloke. It also doesn't make the club look good and maybe alienates people who have friends within the game. In short, it may come back to bite us in the bum, in more ways than one.

The Beak has spoken; best all round to just accept it, imo.

Yeah time to move on. We have more important things to worry about than this. Let's just concentrate on the job in hand and getting this club promoted.

I'm pretty certain we will have budgeted for this. Marc Green has always come across as good businessman and there is no way he would have signed a player when we had a court case coming a few days later which could have cost he club tens of thousands of pounds (no matter how certain of victory he was) time to move on.

Case closed. The club should draw a line under. Pay Franny what he is owed and move on.
