Been trying to find out how much cash each of the middle 8 teams will get based on finishing places 1-8. Does anyone know as info seems to be well hidden.

S/L Clubs get £20,000 if they have a home game and it's on SKY. Championship Clubs get nothing. If a championship club are in the £m game the following years compensation will be as SL ie approx. £1.8m but only if they win> so the £M game only applies to the championship club> but they have to win!

This is the response I got on the Halifax forum regarding the central funding. No links to definitive figures though, so don't take as gospel.

1 -4 stay in SL and so get full funding (£1.85m?)
5th (losing finalist million pound match) £850k
6th £785k
7th £500k
8th £450k

Pretty certain those figures are a bit off. IIrc figures are as follows

5th 780k
6th 770k
7th 550k
8th 500k

Remember there only being a 10k difference between top two figures, with amount for top being basically same as we got this year.

I'm not sure the people who have responded understood the question. Which was how much do you get for winning the playoff. Obviously you qualify to be paid at SL rates for next season (or a sliding scale of lesser sums if you aren't the winner). But do you actually get a cheque THIS year with your trophy? I.e. is there any actual prizemoney?

That not what the op is asking? He asked how much cash each club got depending on their finishing position in the middle 8s.

Anyway to answer your question, no I do not think there is any immediate prize money. The funding is paid out to clubs monthly I believe, although I'm not 100% sure which would be the first month the payments began. Perhaps November? That is generally when player contracts for the forthcoming season commence etc.

That's what i thought. Is it the only comp in world sport where the winner gets no cash prize?

For example, in the Premier League you are paid on merit and the winners for 2015 got £24.7m (on top of everything else they get). The team in 20th rightly had their sterling efforts rewarded too, but only to the tune of £1.23m

In SL they get £100K for winning the hubcap. What do they get for winning/runner-up in GF?

I can't find any mention of prize money on the Kingstone Championship site.

I got no cash prize for destroying all-comers in the tipping competition (back when it mattered), just a warm glow in my kegs.
