It wasn't it was a 7 to partner Lockyer he played in most of the trial games in 2007 at scrum half but when the season started he was pushed back to fullback.

They were planning on grooming him to take over 6 after Lockyer had retired, he played 7 because the Broncos haven't had one for a bit. Whether they are still planning to go through with that I am unsure of, but they dont really want to lose Hunt before Lockyer retires, they need him there for when he does.
