What has Worrincey done wrong to deserve any grief? He has hardly had any game time so its a little unfair to judge.
Morrison is a huge gap to fill though.

Although I appreciate he hasn't had a great deal of time to prove me otherwise yet, I'm yet to see anything from him worthy of a place in the side.

I do appreciate he hasn't had much time at the club yet, which is why I'm not slating too much to the point where I out and out don't believe we should ever pick him (like Tupou).

However I was gutted with the signing in the first place (and said so on here) as I've always thought of him as rubbish. I'm yet to see anything to prove otherwise and there was one moment in the Cas game where he ran around like a headless chicken before getting penalised for a blatant flop, which seemed to confirm what I already thought.

Although I do think he hasn't had enough time to prove me wrong yet (and I still hope he does), I'd still rather other players were picked before him until I see something warranting a place in the side.

 So don't pick him until he warrants a place - how does he do that if he's only playing against kids. I saw Worricey play for Quins last year and he was scoring tries for fun in the summer - just you watch this space he is quality. IMO a shrewd buy by Macca, much better than last year's crop of signings

Oh I agree with that. It's one of those things of "do you pick someone who doesn't look good enough in order to prove his worth and risk him being poor, or put him against poor opposition that you can't judge him as well against". I appreciate it's difficult, but I haven't seen him do anything to warrant a place in the time he has played.

Every single time I've seen him play for Quins, he's been really poor. Sure he got a few tries, but that isn't the measure of a quality player. He scored two tries against us last year, but if you watched the rest of the game, he was crap.

I think the general idea with us over the years has been to buy the unfinished raw material, not being able to afford the finished article, and then train/condition/coach it hopefully into much more than the original purchase. It does take time though. But we do have a very long tradition of successfully doing this - though naturally by no means all such buys pay off, it has like most things plenty of risk.

Worrincy's obvious strength is his pace for a forward, he will need a lot of coaching to improve from where he was, but I for one am prepared to give him a season or so to await developments as he is young and the potential is surely there.

Imagine if he ended up doing a similar job for us as did Paul Medley!

Worrincy is apparently a "special project" and a "work in progress". I reckon we should judge a year from now. By then we'll be more able to tell whether he's worth the effort or whether that would've been better spent on the academy lads.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

But we have 3 of our own academy kids kicking their heels in the reserves who would be more suited to the "special project" and a "work in progress" tag.
