If this case were to be taken as a benchmark for what merits a custodial sentence there would need to be at least a fivefold increase in the number of prisons.
Pryce does have a previous conviction but it was over 5 years ago for Common Assault (may have seemed more serious but was pleaded down from ABH). In criminal justice terms that would be largely considered as "Spent" and wouldnt have had a great deal of influence on today's sentence.
